A must-do excursion if you're in La Palma. The contrasts offered by nature are marvelous, with colors and smells. A perfectly organized excursion. The guide, Win, and the driver, Darío, are professionals. Long pants, high socks (not ankle-length), and good footwear are recommended. If possible, a backpack protector is recommended, as the amount of ash absorbed makes it difficult to clean. The areas created by the eruption are beginning to show the passage of time.

Day Trip Details

At the time indicated, we'll pick you up from the meeting point you select and head to the Cumbre Vieja Natural Park. We'll go to Llano del Jable, where we'll start a hiking route to explore the Tajogaite Volcano, the newest on the island of La Palma.

The Tajogaite eruption in September 2021 put the island in danger. For months, all eyes were on the volcanic process of Cumbre Vieja, which lasted 85 days. As we explore these volcanic lands, we'll remember what happened and the consequences on the surrounding areas.

The route, a total of 5 kilometres (3 miles) there and back, lasting 3 hours, will take us to the best viewpoints to see the crater of Tajogaite. This is the best way of admiring the new volcanic cone. Photo time!

Then, we'll take you by bus to the port of Tazacorte, seeing the newly built roads that connect the towns that were isolated by lava on the way. We'll give you an hour of free time to have lunch at a local restaurant and to see where the magma reached the sea during the eruption.

Before saying our goodbyes, we'll visit Tajuya Square and the Tacande viewpoint, which also offers spectacular views of the new volcano.

After 8 hours of activity, we'll drop you off at the starting point.
