Chubut Valley Trip

At the designated time, we'll depart from your hotel in Puerto Madryn and head to Rawson. Once we have arrived at the capital of Argentina's Chubut province, whoever wants to can board a boat which will take you on a fantastic dolphin-watching cruise. On the journey, you'll see some of the most magnificent marine animals that inhabit the southern Atlantic region.

After the boat trip, we'll head to the coastal resort of Playa Union, where you'll have your own free time to enjoy a drink and take in the views. Then, we'll hit the road once more, this time to the beautiful Chubut River valley region. This part of the province is where Welsh colonists established a 'tiny corner of Wales in South America'. Our next stop is the central heart of this community - the town of Gaiman.

Exploring the main streets of the town center, you'll discover that the Welsh legacy still has a strong presence. The cultural heritage of Gaiman is found in every corner, from the old railway station to the colonial-style housing that was built by the first arrivals at the end of the 19th century. Before leaving the town, we'll visit a classic teahouse where you can try an authentic afternoon snack of delicious Welsh tea and biscuits.

Our last stop is at another large town in the valley, which also has a traditional Welsh name - Trewlew. This settlement started to develop following the construction of the Central Chubut Railway, which would link the Chubut River valley to Puerto Madryn. On our tour, you'll find out why this train line was such an important milestone in the evolution of this region of Argentina. After, we will also visit the wonderful lagoon, which is situated right in the middle of the town. Here you will see flamingos and other birds which form part of this unique ecosystem.

Our tour of Trewlew concludes at the Egidio Feruglio Paleontological Museum, which you can visit if you want. The enormous dinosaur fossils with leave you speechless! Finally, at the end of the trip, we'll take you back to your hotel in Puerto Madryn, where we'll conclude this 8-hour day trip.
